After being neglected and vacant for over 20 years, the historic Alfred C. Priestly School Building will serve New Orleans again, but now as a new tuition-free charter school.

In a recent report, a Task Force from the American College of Health Architects (ACHA) sought to address this rapid change, broadening its focus on health over a wide range of building types to better understand how hospitals can better treat the “whole” person.

Poydras Home Renovation and Addition

We’re now seven months into our new construction project for Poydras Home with our architect partners Eskew Dumez Ripple eagerly looking forward to their beam signing event next week. When completed, this 60,000 SF addition will be the first in the state to follow The GREEN HOUSE Project model of care – destigmatizing aging and providing non-institutional #eldercare. The last two years have brought a great deal of disruption to the construction industry at a time when we’re already seeing great change and innovation.

Further investment in technology such as BIM, AR/VR, and modularization are met by volatile material costs and supply chain issues resulting in schedule challenges. Disruption, however, can often bring meaningful change. And from our perspective, the increase demand for coordination among owner, design team, and contractor early in the process has made our approach to construction delivery on all projects even more critical to their success.
