Enabling LSU’s Library with major utility relocation and campus infrastructure upgrades
In collaboration with our partner, Milton J. Womack, the Womack-Donahue JV team is preparing the LSU campus for its future library development. The scope includes extending Field House Drive to connect with S. Quad Drive, improving campus access and circulation. Work also involves the installation of new underground utilities serving the future library site. In addition, the project includes abatement and demolition of six existing buildings and removal of underground utilities to prepare the site for a new $125 Million LSU Library & Learning Commons which we were also awarded.
The project consists of the relocation of existing steam, chill water, gas, domestic water, and sewer within the project site. New utilities include new 30” chill water lines, two new steam vaults and associated supply and condensate lines, new 10” domestic water lines that cross S. Stadium, new 4” gas mains to refeed Animal Sciences, Francioni Hall, and Dalrymple Bldg., and provisions for new electrical duct bank to Animal Sciences. Also included are new domestic water taps/meters/backflow to Dalrymple and two new sewer lines for Dalrymple. New Drainage piping that crosses S. Stadium Drive and structures are being installed along Forestry Lane and a new “cast in place” drainage structure built along Fieldhouse Drive. Lastly, five single story buildings will have asbestos abatement preformed prior to being demolished.
