Safety and security drives construction methods and delivery.
DonahueFavret Contractors was selected to construct a new facility for the Orleans Parish Communication District from where to operate their 911 call service. The site had very tight security measures including:
An anti-terrorist hydraulic barrier at the entry and exit gates, and one-foot-six-inches thick concrete retaining walls surrounding the building with varying heights from 4’ to 18’ above grade ballistic and hurricane impact windows and door systems.
Other features included:
Ten-inch insulated precast concrete wall and double tee roof members; coated spray foam roofing; a raised access flooring system; and a moveable wall system at the call center area.
