Fast-tracked historic renovation is student-ready for start of school year.
DonahueFavret Contractors has been a partner contractor of St Paul’s School for well over 20 years. With these projects, we were an integral part of the team during the design phase, and worked through details of the project with the architects and engineers. We are experts in construction materials/methods selection, as well as job costing and scheduling. Our focus is always on delivering the final product, having maximized the design intent of the A/E team, and the investment, utility, function and schedule for the Owner. We have delivered tremendous value in all of these facets for St. Paul’s School. DFC has completed multiple projects at the campus including academic building additions and gymnasium renovation and expansions. Most recently, DFC was contracted to renovate Benilde Hall, which was originally constructed in 1961. The scope included total interior demolition and abatement followed by the installation of a new tower housing restrooms on each floor, new enclosed stairwells, and new elevators. Storefront windows were made larger in each classroom, covered walkways and canopies were added to the perimeter, a coffee shop and bookstore were built on the first floor, and a complete renovation of the interior included all new MEP and AV systems. Construction of the fast-tracked project could not start until school was out for summer and had to be completed for the fall semester start. Crews worked around the clock to ensure the students were in the classrooms for the start of the school year.
